Masteron.....Everything you need to know -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Masteron : ( Drostanolone Propionate ) Without trying to re-write the drug profiles, I want to go over a very misunderstood drug among the majority of members here . This is well worth your time to read as the effects of this drug are remarkable to say the least. For those that are not familiar with Masteron and its many great benefits to bodybuilders, let me briefly explain this remarkable drug to you. Obviously Masteron is not a popular steroid among the members as its use is not widely noted except by those who are seeking a contest ready physique. Granted this steroid works best when bodyfat percentage are low, ( as it will improve shape and hardness in muscle tissue while augmenting the vascular appearance of a contest ready bodybuilder ), but havent we learned by now that ALL steroids work their best when bodyfat percentages are low ? ( this has been repeated time and time again here ) Once used exclusively by contest ready athletes 3 to 5 weeks prior to a show, a dose of 100mg eod or e3d was most used by males was a commonly noted practice. I would consider a dose of 300 to 500mg per week for 6 to 8 weeks within the safety range of this drug for most users. Women have reported using 50mg eod for those that have experienced this drug but dosages of 100 to 350mg per week have been used. The remarkable characteristic of this drug is that it is anti-catabolic and anti-estrogenic in nature due to receptor inhibition. ( I will go into detail about this shortly ). First understand that Masteron ( Drostanolone Propionate ) is a highly androgenic injectable steroid and is a synthetic derivative of DHT ( dihydrotestosterone ). Since DHT doesnt convert to estrogen, then no water retention is noted during use and estrogen conversion is non-existant. Being that it is a derivative of DHT, then obviously the down side is promote hair loss and prostate problems to individuals prone to such. Acne is a problem for those predisposed to harsh acne problems. The up side of this drug is, as stated already, no water retention, rarely causes blood pressure problems, it is not liver toxic, it doesnt aromatize to estrogen, and it rarely suppresses HPTA function in most cases. When used with mass steroids, Masteron did aid in a rapid build-up of strength and mass. Now for the good stuff and Ill try to keep this as layman as possible ( cause I hate when someone gets too scientific with an explanation personally ),,, Masteron has a receptor binding ability 3 to 5 times greater than that of testosterone, meaning it can hang out longer in androgen receptor sites and is not easily displaced,,, the end result is increased AAS activity. **** Did I lose you ? LOL Keep reading,,, Masteron also has a high SHBG ( Sex Hormone Binding Globulin ) and albumin binding rate. { If you are not familiar with SHBG and albumin then allow me to briefly explain this too. SHBG and to a lesser degree albumin contained in the bloodstream prevent steroid molecules from fitting into their respective receptor sites. This is what prevents the bodies own natural test levels from becoming active ( or free is the word most of you have heard before,, free means active,,, bound means inactive ) therefore this is what is referred to as bound steroid molecules because again, SHBG and albumin prevent them from fitting into receptor sites. Many can related to free testosterone levels and bound testosterone levels as this is commonly tested during a blood test,,, free makes up about 1 to 3% of the total testosterone circulating in the bloodstream while bound testosterone makes up about 97 to 99% of total testosterone. ( Sucks huh ? ) So now you know what is meant by bound and free steroid molecules and what is responsible for their state. Now back to Masteron. **** You would think since masterone has a high binding rate, this is a bad thang right,, well being that Masteron is 3 to 5 times more active than testosterone, the unbound portion circulating in the bloodstream goes a long way making Masteron effective regardless of its binding rate. Since this drug binds to SHBG and albumin at a higher rate than any other steroid, guess what,,,, any other AAS co-administered with Masteron remains in an unbound ( or free ) state to a greater degree and is able to induce greater results. This is called synergy of drugs and with the administration of Masteron, this makes other steroids like testosterone, nor-testosterones, and orals have a remarkably better effect. Now ya got the big picture right ? Masteron enhances other steroid activity. But wait,,, it gets better As I mention above, Masteron acts as an anti-estrogen. This is due to its ability to compete for the aromatase receptor. Remember the aromatase enzyme is responsible for converting many steroids to estrogen. This means Masteron has the ability to inhibit the enzyme at its own receptor site preventing it from converting to estrogen or any other steroid for that matter. So not only is it a kick ass steroid,,, its a kick ass anti-estrogen too. Way cool huh ? Many users compare Masterons effects to that of Trenbolone Acetate. There are common distinct characteristics of these 2 and a great alternative to those that have had a negative impact from tren with respect to HPTA suppression, liver and/or kidney toxic, or progesterone gyno. Allow me to explain once again,,, Masteron works best with a low bodyfat percentage so before you continue, dont think you can have a bodyfat range of 16 to 20 plus percent and get the same effects as tren from this drug cause it aint gonna happen.
