There are many factors which go into determining if a cycle will be effective or not, and these factors are individual to you... Have you run a cycle before? What is your drug tolerance? What is your body weight? How much muscle do you carry? What is your body fat percentage? What are your goals? What sacrifices, in terms of health and reproductive ability, are you willing to make? If you’re 180 pounds and have never run a cycle before, it would be foolish to try to keep up the guys in your gyms who are 250 pounds and have been using steroids for a decade or longer... Your body has its own set of tools, gifts, and limitations... For many things in life these factors don’t matter... But, for the case of steroids, every individual is different... Your training partner’s muscle cell receptors aren’t nearly as fresh as yours, so he needs more... Additionally, he already knows, thanks to years of experience, how his body will respond, both positively and negatively... Some bodybuilders might wonder why 1200 or 1600 mg of testosterone Cypionate per week would be that bad for them... Sure, they understand the advantages of working up to that level... But they also know that their buddy is running two grams, and he looks great... Why can’t he do the same? He simply doesn’t have the steroid experience to make it either safe or productive... There are just some things you can’t fake – and ten years of running cycles is one of them! This isn’t to say there aren’t some standard tenets that don’t apply to all bodybuilders... There are. Rules are rules... Increasing testosterone blood levels will always, to a certain point, lead to gains. However, the level of effectiveness and affinity for risk are going to vary greatly outside of that... If you’re a new steroid user who is training (and using) with someone with much greater experience, do everything in your power to avoid falling into the trap of using what he uses... In five years, he’ll still be using about the same amount, as he’s likely peaked his usage, or is getting close... However, by starting at such a high level, your body will be dependent upon such high doses for even starter gains, and you’ll have to venture into dangerous dosage sizes eventually, while your partner (who worked his way up gradually) will continue to make great gains with less oil... Be smart, and pay your dues... Don’t try to keep up with the Jones’.
